I truly believe in "FATE" and "DESTINY".  If I didn't, I wouldn't be married to my husband.  I knew "of" my husband for more than half of my life, but unfortunately, it wasn't always the case with him.  He never knew I even existed until the day that we met face-to-face.  Geo moved here from the East side of Allentown when he was in fourth grade.  I was in second grade when I developed the worst "crush"--and there were others-- I ever had on him.  He walked onto the school bus that fateful day, and I WAS FLOORED....quite simply, I was in "LOVE" (as much as a second grader could be).  Still, he didn't know I was alive.

Throughout our high school years, respectively, my crush remained in place quite strongly.  He was two years ahead of me in school, so of course, I had to do some quite creative maneuvering to see him when the overlapping years weren't happening (you know, when I was in fourth grade and he was in sixth; and then again when I was in eighth grade and he was in tenth).  I have to say, I'm not too proud of the things that I did to have my little "Geo indulgences", but YES, I did them!!!  You know how horrible teenage girls can be.  Well, I didn't do anything too horrible--in my eyes, anyway--I didn't step on anyone's feelings to get what I wanted. So, as I was saying, throughout our high school years, my crush remained in place, unmentioned and unrequited.

One of my little stunts, as it turned out, wasn't a stunt at all because that wasn't my intention in the least.  I dated a boy in my grade off and on (it turns out he had something to hide, too, so I don't feel so bad anymore) and I, quite by accident, discovered that Geo lived on the street in front of him and when we were outside on his patio, if I positioned myself just right, I could see Geo when he was outside.  Even when that unnamed boy and I weren't dating, we were still friends, so I was over at his house almost everyday (he still gave me rides to and from school everyday so I was there.  Then, I discovered that my husband was a wrestler.  I ALWAYS found ways to make it to the home wrestling matches.  I just wanted to see him in his "tights"--he had such a cute butt, you know.  I even went against all that was me, to go to the school dances in the hope of getting a glimpse or possibly dancing with my crush--it, unfortunately, never happened.

It wasn't until four years after high school, and already being a mother, that my opportunity presented itself to bring him into my life.  My best friend, Ann Marie, at the time was living with his best friend, Marc.  I was over at their apartment, we were lounging on her bed listening to music, and my eye caught a photo laying on the floor.  I picked it up and looked at it.  I asked her who the guy in the photo was and she told me it was "Geo".  I asked her what his real name was and when she told me, I became very excited.  I told her that she just had to fix us up.  So, she called him and told him that she had a girl that wanted to meet him and that I knew him from school.  She also told him that I had been nursing  a crush on him since elementary school.  He wasn't very agreeable to it, at first.  She had played "matchmaker" for him previously with disastrous results.  She told him, at my urging, that if he wanted to meet me, it would have to be that night before I chickened out.  He hesitantly agreed.

My excitement kept building and I was SO nervous.  I think he was as nervous as I was, though.  I remember getting myself ready--Ann Marie loaned me some of her clothes and she helped me do my makeup and my hair.  I, of course, took off my glasses because I was afraid I would look too geeky for me (not to mention, they were broken and epoxied at the arm).  He rang the doorbell and I waited in the living room, sitting on the edge of the sofa.  He came in the front door, walked down the hall, and, NO KIDDING, he peeked around the corner.  Apparently, he liked what he saw because he came completely into the room, smiled, and introduced himself.  His first question to me was, "So, do you like what you see?".  OF COURSE, I DID!!!!

And, so the "dance" began.  Our romance began and our love began to grow with each day, eventually molding our lives into one.  We dated for six months before we moved into an apartment together, although, really once you think about it, I stayed over at his house one night and never left.  LOL.  Then, we lived together in that apartment for two years, before buying our house together.  Finally, six years later, we walked down the aisle and became husband and wife.  To this day, Geo tells people that he married his stalker!!!  It is actually quite amusing when it is told correctly.

(Sorry, people.  For some reason, this blog didn't flow as easily as the others.  It doesn't even seem to be as good the others.  I don't know why because this is a story that I love to tell).
